FIND OUT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR LAND ROVER LEASE

The professionals at your Land Rover dealership are specialists in creating custom Land Rover lease programs based on your preferences and needs. We'll carefully explain the advantages of certain lease options and review all of the Land Rover current lease incentives. At Land Rover Lake Bluff, we are also an authorized Land Rover Lease Return Center, and we offer incentives if you return a leased Land Rover vehicle, no matter where the vehicle was originally leased. Contact us regarding any lease questions.

As the end of your lease approaches, your Land Rover dealer is happy to help you complete the simple lease-end process. You just have to call Land Rover Lake Bluff a few days prior to the lease maturity date and schedule an appointment for vehicle return. If you don't already have a contact person, ask for our business manager. Turning in your vehicle only takes a few minutes, during which you and your Land Rover dealership will:

Review the condition of your vehicle

  • Complete and sign the Vehicle Return Notification form

  • Complete and sign an Odometer Disclosure Statement

  • Arrange payment for any additional charges, if applicable

You also have several options designed to keep you behind the wheel of the Land Rover vehicle you want. You can return your vehicle and lease a new Land Rover vehicle again, or purchase the vehicle you've been leasing.

Lease-End Process

You also have several options designed to keep you behind the wheel of the Land Rover vehicle you want. You can return your vehicle and lease a new Land Rover vehicle again, or purchase the vehicle you've been leasing.

Purchase or lease a new vehicle.

Start by visiting your originating retailer* and selecting your next vehicle. If you will be returning your current lease vehicle, refer to #3 below.

Purchase your current lease vehicle.

If you choose to purchase your lease vehicle, please review the purchase option price in your lease agreement and return to your originating retailer. They can provide a final purchase price with taxes, facilitate lease-end requirements such as your signing of a federally required odometer statement and complete your purchase transaction.

Return your current lease vehicle.

If you decide to return your lease vehicle to your Land Rover dealer, there are a few things you will want to do before returning the vehicle to help ensure a smooth process:

Review the Wear and Use section of the Land Rover Lake Bluff site. It explains the return process and will help you identify whether your vehicle has any Excess Wear and Use or Excess Mileage. One of the advantages of identifying Excess Wear and Use before returning your vehicle is that it allows time to process claims if damage is covered under your insurance policy.

Reach out to the staff at your Land Rover dealership to schedule a vehicle return appointment. Take this opportunity to discuss:

  • Any Excess Wear and Use you have or think you may have

  • Your replacement vehicle needs

  • Potential coverage of Excess Wear and Use charges offered by  WearCare® (refer to your WearCare® Addendum for details)

  • Necessary repairs

  • Return your vehicle to the originating retailer by the lease-end date. To fulfill your lease obligations, you need to be present at vehicle return to:

    • Review and sign the Odometer Statement (required by federal law)

    • Pay any Excess Mileage and Excess Wear and Use charges.

Returning Your Vehicle

Approximately 120-150 days before your lease is scheduled to end, a Lease-End Brochure will be sent, outlining what to expect when returning your lease vehicle. When you return your vehicle to Land Rover Capital Group, its overall condition will need to be evaluated to determine if there are areas of chargeable Excess Wear and Use. To help you prepare for the assessment of the condition of your vehicle, a Wear and Use Evaluator Card containing Normal Wear and Use measurements and some useful guidelines are included in the brochure.

Inspecting your vehicle provides you with options that will help avoid charges at the end of your lease. Your retailer can provide needed repairs, genuine Land Rover parts, service and expertise on whatever is needed to prepare your vehicle for return.

Approximately 35-45 days before your lease is scheduled to end, you will be contacted by either your originating retailer* or a vehicle inspection company** to arrange a date for your vehicle inspection. This inspection is a standard practice and recommended so that you will be aware of our assessment of Excess Wear and Use on your vehicle. If for some reason you are not contacted about an inspection, contact your retailer for assistance.

On or before the scheduled lease-end date, return your vehicle to your originating retailer.* We suggest scheduling an appointment for vehicle return in advance to ensure that your retailer will be ready to support your needs. In addition, failing to return your vehicle on time could result in additional charges as described in your Lease Agreement. To fulfill your lease obligations, you need to be present at vehicle return to:

  • Review and sign the Odometer Statement (required by federal law)

  • Pay any Excess Mileage and Excess Wear and Use charges

* If you've moved and now live more than 75 air miles from your originating retailer, you may return your lease vehicle to a participating Land Rover retailer. Be sure to contact them for an appointment prior to vehicle return. If you are having trouble locating a participating Land Rover retailer, please contact our Customer Service Center.

** Vehicle inspection companies used by Land Rover Capital Group are:

  - American Road Services Company (AMRO)

  - DataScan Field Services (DFS)

Normal vs. Excess Wear & Use

As your Lease Agreement states, Land Rover Capital Group expects lease vehicles to be returned in good condition allowing for Normal Wear and Use (refer to your Lease Agreement for information regarding vehicle Wear and Use). Chargeable Excess Wear and Use is the result of damage to a vehicle outside the Normal Wear and Use guidelines.

Excess Wear and Use also includes (see your Lease Agreement for additional details):

  • Broken or missing parts (e.g., keys, key fobs, spare tire)

  • Poor quality repairs

  • Mechanical or electrical malfunctions

  • Tires that are not of appropriate size or rating for the vehicle

You will be responsible for any chargeable Excess Wear and Use remaining at vehicle return. To avoid these Excess Wear and Use charges, we recommend that you have necessary repairs made prior to returning your vehicle. Be sure to consult your retailer for any needs or questions you might have.

Some types of vehicle damage considered Excess Wear and Use may be covered by your insurance policy. If this is the case, be sure to allow sufficient time for claims to be processed and repairs to be completed before vehicle return. Additionally, if you purchased WearCare® at lease inception, you're likely covered for Excess Wear and Use up to $2,500 (see your WearCare® Addendum for details).
